Skill practice never turns into a fight with waves and current, and for a first certification that difference is large.
The second advantage arrives right after: just offshore from the training bays are walls and reefs you can dive the day you get certified. In one holiday you can both learn and put what you learned to use on a real dive.

The Fethiye diving season wakes up around April, peaks from May to September, then winds down through October and November. For a course, the most comfortable window for most people is either end of the season: late May and early June, or September and October.
The reason is comfort: the sea has warmed but the boats and bays are not as busy as at the height of summer, so instructor attention and bay choice come easier. July and August work too; for those dates we suggest telling us early.
Çalış, Ölüdeniz and Fethiye town centre are the most common bases, and course programs are reachable from all three. Tell us where you'll be staying and we'll suggest the centre whose meeting point is easiest for you.
The closest airport is Dalaman, about 45 minutes by car from Fethiye town. Shuttle, bus and car-hire options run from the airport. Coming from the Antalya side, the D400 coastal road leads to Fethiye.
We suggest adding a buffer day on top of the course's own length. If the sea closes for a day the program can shift, and not landing the last day of the course on the last day of your holiday is the safest plan.
